Stones, Eagles and The Roman Army – a Connection?

Each Roman Army Legion carried an Eagle standard. The pages in the associated PDF explore the prospect of a Roman Army connection involving Eagles carved on Pictish Symbol Stones and the people who carved these objects.

Of particular interest are Roman sites – Burnfield, Auchinhove and Muiryfold – which are near locations of Symbol Stones and rivers.

Arranged in order of likelihood, three possible explanations are considered for who may have carved the “eagle” Stones.
